From imminent Real Madrid exit to requesting a contract renewal, all or nothing: 'I'm staying'

A Real Madrid footballer has surprised everyone by wanting to stay with the team

One of the players who could leave Real Madrid was David Alaba, who has a contract until 2026. After his knee injury, he hasn't regained his level and has suffered several muscle injuries. In the end, after being sidelined for so long with an injury like that, it's normal to have complications.

However, the latest reports make it clear that the player's priority is to stay at Real Madrid. He feels indebted to the club and believes he can still have a good season. In fact, he doesn't rule out trying to renew his contract, because he wants to stay at the best team in the world.

"Sources close to David Alaba insist that he wants to at least fulfill his contract, which ends in 2026. They also trust Alaba will be important for Xabi Alonso, given that he was close to him during his time at Bayern," says Guillermo Rai. Therefore, it doesn't seem like there will be a soap opera.

They don't count on him

Xabi Alonso values David Alaba's quality highly and knows the player he was, but he no longer performs at the same level. He won't be among the defenders who play the most in the squad, and it's necessary to see what his physical condition is. First, he must recover well from the injury in his left soleus (sóleo izquierdo), and then compete.

A few months ago, Real Madrid were optimistic about his return, but that feeling has gradually faded. The player is having many muscle problems and still hasn't played two consecutive matches normally. His injury was very complicated, and everything is even more difficult since he is 33 years old.

He doesn't give up

David Alaba could receive a salary similar to what he has at Real Madrid in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, or the United States. However, the player wants to keep competing at the highest level at the Merengue club; he doesn't accept ending his career in Europe. He wants to prove himself and become a great defender again.

The problem is that Real Madrid is always required to win, and it has strengthened its defense well. That leaves Alaba without minutes, unless he takes on a rotation role or impresses everyone. But for that to happen, things would have to change a lot.
