The reason why Real Madrid denies more signings this summer, the situation changes

The white sports management puts the brakes on transfer market activities

Real Madrid has had a rather hectic summer transfer window with up to four signings... and the possibility that a fifth could arrive. Especially after all the rumors circulating about a hypothetical approach to Ibrahima Konaté, a direct request from Xabi Alonso to strengthen the defense.

Despite the tireless work carried out by the Madrid sporting management, the reality is that the Valdebebas offices have decided to come to a complete stop. Not only because the four signings secured so far are more than enough to help with the restructuring that Xabi Alonso is implementing in Santiago Bernabéu locker room.

There is also a simpler explanation: a matter of balanced accounts and finances. The latest financial report published by the Spanish capital squad, corresponding to the 24/25 fiscal year, is a clear reflection of the management carried out by the current board of directors: a surplus of 24 million.

With the goal of not going into losses, a trend that Real Madrid has maintained even during the season affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, the club's top executives are pausing any signings. The financial statements lead to a very clear conclusion: there can't be new signings without first securing the departure of a footballer.

This display of balance is also reflected in the structure of the Merengue locker room: there are no available spots for new signings. The addition of Franco Mastantuono, who will arrive in August, as well as the contract renewal of Raúl Asencio and the "promotion" of Gonzalo García to the first team, complete the maximum of 25 players.

The financial appreciation and the lack of space in the first team point to several footballers. The clearest case in this regard is Rodrygo Goes, whose future in Xabi Alonso's tactical plans isn't closely tied to a leading role. His poor performance during the 24/25 campaign and the Club World Cup have helped place him on the exit ramp.

His compatriot Vinícius finds himself trapped in a similar situation. The turmoil surrounding the renewal of the verdeamarelo footballer, an agreement that has never been close to materializing, is compounded by the sharp decline in his performance. There are still no offers, except for the multimillion-dollar approaches from Saudi Arabia.

Other players such as Dani Ceballos and Fran García could leave Real Madrid... as long as the offers that reach the board of directors are reasonable. Only by meeting those conditions would more signings be enabled for the first team: until then, the squad is complete.
